Nadia Forde pens new comedy show for RTE

Nadia Forde has penned a new comedy series for RTE, which she’s been working tirelessly on over the last few months.

The series will take a look at Italian run chippers in Dublin in the ’80s, based loosely on her own family history.

Taking to social media, she said, “Been bursting at the seams to share this. ‘The Lido’ started way back when I was at home nursing my (then) newborn and my god it’s been a journey already.

“We have the most incredible creative team on this and with RTE One and Northern Ireland Screen onboard I’m so excited about what we are cooking up together. Here’s to many salty vinegar Italian chipper drenched dreams.”

Friends and famous faces including Rosanna Davison, Maia Dunphy, Donal Skehan and Peter Stringer shared their delight, and revealed they can’t wait to tune in.

Fellow writer and actor Amy Huberman said, “Fantastic! Well done!”

Pippa O’Connor added, “Congratulations darling. Thrilled for and can’t wait to see it all come to life.”

The show has yet to receive an official air date, but we’ll keep you posted on this!
