Mumford & Sons surprise fans at secret Irish pub gig

2025 truly is the summer of music!

We have so many incredible gigs coming up and so many that have already taken place.

One such gig is Mumford & Sons as they are headlining Malahide Castle this week.

The band will play to 20,000 people at the iconic venue on Friday night, but ahead of the gig they decided to delight fans.

Patrons of O’Donoghue’s Pub were treated to a surprise performance on Thursday night.

The 250 who were in the beer garden were surprised by the band’s impromptu gig.

Videos have gone viral of the band playing their hit song Little Lion Man.

Fans who missed out shared their dismay on social media, with one saying: “One day I’ll be in the right place at the right time.”

Another said: “I can only imagine what that must feel like as an artist. To put something out there in the universe and have it sing it right back at you is just beautiful.”

One joked: “Please do this again on August 2nd ok thx.”

Those who are lucky enough to attend their sold-out gig in Malahide gates open at 4pm with the opening acts beginning after 5pm. They have three support acts, Divorce, Odhran Murphy and Lisa Hannigan before the lads come on.
