Turning 40 is a milestone moment.
And it was no different for Muireann O’Connell. She tells VIP Magazine that after her birthday she took stock of her life.
“Much like the way we look at a child to see if they have reached their milestones, I looked at myself and went, ‘oh god!’,” she tells us.
She explains that her “adult milestones” include owning a home adding: “I’m in a rented house with my partner without a kid, without a dog, without any real ties.”
“I’ve never made a huge commitment and that was one thing I sort of realised when I turned 40. That my fear of commitment is a big deal. I’m trying to rectify that now.”
Of course, she is in the midst of wedding planning. Something she quickly brushes off, she’s not a planner, she reminds us.
She hasn’t “purposely” been putting her wedding planning on the long finger.
Instead, she admits: “I do think what’s the point in having a wedding if you don’t have a house to go back to? So I’m like, let’s concentrate on one thing at a time.”
“It will happen at some stage,” she assures us.
