Gone be the days of Louis Walsh judging talent on The X-Factor, he has a new role now. However, it’s not as glamorous as we might have thought.
Instead of brushing shoulders with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell each weekend, he’s going to be searching for talent in Blackpool.
Having worked on The X-Factor for 11 years, that experience will surely help him find the next big thing as he has been named to judge a local competition, Talent Fest UK on September 26th and 27th.
Despite it being a major step down from what he has previously done, Louis is looking forward to trying something new.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, he said, “I’m excited about Talent Fest UK. People ask if I get fed up judging talent contests, but it’s in my blood and I love it. Every day is different. You never know who’s going to walk in the door. I’ve so many new exciting projects up my sleeve.”
Louis is on the look-out for a very specific type of star, and wants to work with someone a little older than the typical group of starlets we’re so used to seeing in the charts these days.
“I’m looking for someone who not only has talent, but a great attitude and work ethic. I’d love to find an artist like Tom Jones or the next Michael Buble,” she said.
Well he might just find that person in Blackpool!
