Gogglebox is one of our favourite show, so of course, we can’t wait for the upcoming celebrity edition. During which our favourite stars will take to the couch and share their thoughts on the latest and greatest TV has to offer.
The special already has a superb line-up with the likes of Tadhg Fleming and his family joining the series. As well as Kerry Katona and Alison Spittle, who host the podcast, Wheel of Misfortune.
Also sharing their opinions from the couches will be Tommy Tiernan, Hector Ó hEochagáin and Laurita Blewitt. Along with Tommy Bowe, Karen Koster and Martin King.
And now even more stars have signed up as Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian have joined the line-up.
Opening up about joining the series, Brian said: “People used to contact me on Instagram and say “OMG if they ever do a Celebrity Gogglebox you and Arthur should do it” It’s so funny and when it came through, I was like Arthur oh my god… You are never going to believe it, because we watch the show and I just can’t believe it, it’s such an institution and it has been running for years and the show just gets better, we watch telly all the time and we talk a lot while we watch, just to sit down and be part of such a franchise like this we are so obsessed with the fact they asked us, and we were like straight away yes! When do you need us to start?”
While Arthur added: “Seriously where to start? Being part of Gogglebox for this special is just beyond exciting for me. I will never ever forget watching the first season of The Show it was unforgettable. I mean especially doing with my husband it’s going to be so much fun. I can’t wait LET’S DO THIS!”
And the pair already have some strong TV opinions, with Brian picking Desperate Housewives as the show he’d like to see re-booted, and Arthur choosing Baywatch. While for guilty pleasures, Brian opted for The Real Housewives franchise, while Arthur cited any baking shows as his favourite. Saying: “’m completely hooked on watching the process of baking and creating these delectable, sweet treats. I can easily binge-watch an entire series in just a couple of days!”
Also added to the line-up was Virgin Media News broadcasters, and The Group Chat hosts Gavan Reilly, Zara King and Richard Chambers.
Opening up about joining the show, Gavin said: “I’ve been a Gogglebox fan since the early days of the British series – so much so that the older series are one of the most-watched things on our Netflix! It was great to see an Irish edition get off the ground and it’s really exciting to get to be part of a landmark special episode like this one.”
While Zara shared what TV series she’d like to see get the reboot treatment. “I’m torn between The West Wing and Ballykissangel. I know, they’re two VERY different shows, but I have loved them both. I’ll go with the West Wing because I think BallyK was probably a moment in time, but it was a joy at that time, the theme music still reminds me of getting to stay up late to watch it. The West Wing is just a classic, one of the greats that I have watched over and over again. I would love a reboot, a brand-new season,” she shared.
And Richard confessed his guilty pleasure TV pick, admitting: “Love Island. That or closing the curtains on scorching summer days to watch hours of the Tour de France.”
