Missy Keating has shared her disappointment at not being able to take part in Dancing with the Stars at the weekend after testing positive with Covid. The theme of this week’s show was ‘Dedicated Dance Week’ which saw all the celebrity couples dedicate their performances to someone special in their lives, making it quite an emotional show.
Posting an update on how she was doing on Sunday the Irish model and influencer shared; “It’s been quite a week! Covid got me gooooood It’s been tough…. Thankfully didn’t have any crazy symptoms but it’s been strange not being in rehearsals all week and even stranger not being at the studio now getting ready for tonight’s show.”
Continuing she added; “GUTTED is an understatement!!@dwtsirl you truly have my heart! Coming to the end of my isolation now though and soooo excited for next week! My next dance is perfectly suited to my birthday weekend… 21 on Friday!!! I can’t wait.”
Her Stepmum Storm Keating shared her encouragement on social media, praising Missy for supporting her fellow dancers; “Tough cards to be dealt Moo, but you took it in your stride and handled it so well. A good sportswoman still supporting the rest of the @dwtsirl crew from the sidelines. Proud of you.”
Missy had planned to dedicate her performance this week to her grandmother, Marie Keating, who passed away before she was born.
Taking to Instagram to share the news she said; “Absolutely devastated to announce that due to Covid, I won’t be performing on Dancing with the Stars this Sunday.”
“Dedicated Dance Night was something I really wanted to be part of. My dance was going to be in honour of my beautiful grandmother, Marie Keating, who I never got to meet.”
Continuing she added; “Those who know her cancer story, know she was taken from our family at an extremely young age, and this was my moment to be with her and dance for her. I’m heartbroken with the circumstances.”
However, as devastating as it is for Missy to miss out on what would have been a special week for her, she’s looking forward to returning to the dance floor again once she makes a full recovery.
“Please God I will be back on that dancefloor next week. I turn 21 next Friday so Ervinas and I have a super fun performance planned to celebrate it.”
