Mary Kennedy has opened up about her relationship with her partner of the last four years, Tom.
The broadcaster has always kept her romance very private but has been known to speak about how happy she is now she has once again found love.
She married her ex-husband Ronan Foster in 1990 before they split in 2005. And in 2019 she found Tom who she has been in a happy relationship with since.
The couple was first introduced by mutual friends and now Mary has enthused about their romance.
“He’s been very much welcomed into the family,” she told the Sunday Independent.
“It’s lovely. We have a lot of shared interests, cinema, hiking, and meeting friends.
“It’s lovely to have someone you can confide in and who has your back.”
She previously told RTÉ Guide that she was “shaking” with nerves ahead of her first date with her partner Tom.
“We went for lunch on a blind date. It took a lot of courage, and I was absolutely petrified. That day I drove down from RTE to lunch, I was shaking the whole morning in advance.
“But you have to take a chance, you have to be courageous,” she continued.
“I would always say to people as they get older to never lose the courage, the energy, that pushes you forward, even if it does terrify you and requires that extra push.”
