Maia Dunphy has revealed the terrifying moment her weighing scales exploded without her going near them.
The TV presenter shared photos of the incident and even showed injuries she suffered.
“I think the scales are trying to tell me something,” she joked.
“They just exploded without being stood on…glass everywhere.”
She later explained that thankfully her young son Tom was not nearby.
“Glass was still making crackling noises whilst I was clearing it up.”
Many of her followers on Twitter and Instagram were shocked by the incident, while others suspected that the heat played a part in the incident.
The host later explained that she has been looking into the incident online only to find out that it is more common that she thought. Sharing a screenshot of a DailyMail article, she said: “Post a cursory googling, exploding glass scales seem to be a thing. All cleaned up now and only two more cuts sustained. FFS….”
We’re glad she’s okay and her son wasn’t involved.
