Louise McSharry says she wasn’t allowed to finish out her 2fm show

The former radio presenter has revealed on Instagram stories that her show has been taken off the air and she will not be finishing her pre-planned remaining shows.

Louise had planned to present her final two shows after announcing her departure from the network, but explained they will not go ahead and that this decision was “not [her] call”.

She told her followers, “Lots of people have been asking me if I’m on this weekend, I’m not.

“I thought I was going to be, but then they decided that I shouldn’t be so I’m gutted about that because we actually had such a good show planned… So yeah I’m gutted.

“This wasn’t my call, but I’m honestly ok. This has happened to me before, it’s the nature of the beast, it’s the industry that I’m in. You just never know how long your job will last.

“The last time this happened, if you’ve read my book you’ll know, that I was absolutely devastated. But I learned from that that you always have to have several pots on to boil and a plan in your back pocket for if things go wrong.

“So I do have a plan, I plan to continue making the kind of content that I’ve been making on the radio station, but I’ll just be serving it up in a different way. So if you stick around, I’ll tell you as soon as I have concrete news on that.”

She went on to say she doesn’t think this treatment is right saying, “I really hate this kind of radio practice of not letting someone finish out their show, I think it’s s***ty.

“I think it’s s***ty for me and my team who have put shows together for this weekend and I think it’s s***ty for the listeners who enjoy the show and expect it and I really wish that this wasn’t the situation.”

Louise was able to find a “silver-lining” in the situation, sharing that she’s excited to have her weekends back and enjoy more family time.

She was able to attend her son’s GAA match for the first time this weekend sharing a snap before she left ready for the sidelines saying, “Ready for day one as a GAA ma.”

We look forward to seeing what she will be up to next!
