Louise Cooney: “I feel like I’m getting back on my feet after having Jude”

Louise Cooney

Louise Cooney is ready for her blushing bride era.

Her partner, Mark Sweeney popped the question over the summer at Spanish Point in Clare.

So right now she’s focused on wedding plans and moving into a new stage of motherhood with her 18-month-old Jude.

We catch up with her on the Platinum VIP Style Awards red carpet…

Louise, how are you? How’s baby Jude?

Really good! He’s 18 months, so a year and a half, he’s talking, walking, full of chat, full of personality, and so much fun!

What is this stage like for you?

He’s becoming a person and a toddler which is so much fun and absolutely chaotic at the same time, you know. He tells me what he wants, you know, he knows what he wants, you know. It’s amazing I love him to bits.

Ah so gorgeous. Tell us about wedding planning…

I mean for us anyway, we did so much at the start, the decision-making was the worst part really. Once decided and booked all the big things, we’re only six months out and I haven’t done anything in ages, so I need to pick it back up! [Laughs] And we will. I mean my priority now is celebrating every moment, so I just booked a dinner for us for our six-month out anniversary.

Most importantly, is the dress got?

It’s ordered yeah; it’s on the way. Bridesmaid dress ordered; groomsmen are nearly sorted. We’ll get there, yeah, we’re nearly there.

What’s on the horizon for summer other than wedding planning?

Do you know what, I feel like I’m actually really just getting back on my feet after having Jude. I feel like I completely changed my life in the best possible way but, I don’t know everything just feels different, so I am excited to get back to doing my podcast and taking a bit more time out for myself. Again, I kind of surrendered and leaned into learning how to be a mum. Now I’m ready to get stuck back in. You know, I have been working all along but, I’m kind of excited and open-minded about what the future holds. My podcast, Open Book, this season is all about learning, you know, and I have a lot of experts coming on. People that my audience and me can ask questions to and learn from. So, I’m really excited about that and I’m pushing myself because it’s not something that feels comfortable to me for now but it’ll be great.
