Louise Cantillon has shared her support for her husband Declan Hannon after he announced his retirement from inter-county hurling.
The Limerick man led the team to All-Ireland victory in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, making him the most successful hurling captain in history.
Declan has played for Limerick for 15 years and announced that he will be hanging up his caman.
He had thanked Louise for her “huge sacrifice” as she supported him over the years.

And her emotional tribute to his retirement is no different as she shared dozens of snaps of Declan on the pitch through the years.
“Ó thús go deireadh, you did it all Declan x,” she captioned the post.
“Eternally proud of you, agus an draíocht atá ionat. Thank you for giving us the best years of our lives. If we could do it all again, I would in a heartbeat.
“I love you to bits. I’m sure I’ve left out so many important pics. X”

What a sweet tribute to her husband.
Declan also made sure to pay homage to Louise in his statement, he said: “A special thank you to my wife Louise, to have had you by my side for this chapter of our life has been such a joy. Your love, care and huge sacrifice has been instrumental in allowing me to chase my dreams.
“To my in-laws, wider family and friends, thank you all for being part of this story and being a constant presence. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.”
We can’t wait to see what Declan’s next adventure is!
