Louis Walsh doesn’t miss being on the judging panel of X-factor and revealed that he had been there for too long.
Speaking on RTE 2FM, the 63-year-old said “I didn’t love it last year if I’m really honest with you. I liked it and it paid me well but I think I was just there too long and I was cracking up a bit.”
Louis insisted that it “absolutely suits him” to be off the show and doing his own thing for this season as the entire format has now changed.
However, he did say that he thought himself and Rita Ora would have hit it off working together, “I spent a lot of time with Rita…She’s a funny, funny bunny. I would have got on well with her.”
The music mentor wished new judge Nick Grimshaw all the best andurged watchers to give him a chance.
“I think Nick Grimshaw is going to be ok. I thought it was a strange choice originally. I thought it was going to be Lionel Richie, and that would have been a good call.”
“I hope he works out, it’ll be tough during the live shows cause you really have to mentor them,” he said.
As well as Nick and Rita, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini returns to the judging seat and so too does Simon Cowell.
