Louis Walsh has announced that he has made the decision to leave The X Factor, after 13 years on the judging panel.
The Irish man made the decision to leave the popular singing show, despite confirming earlier this year that he would be returning to the show.
“I’ve had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave,” said Walsh in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to another series of Ireland’s Got Talent, going back to my day job as a manager, writing my memoirs and seeing the world!”
“His contribution cannot be overstated,” Amelia Brown, managing director of Thames said of Louis’ decision.
“We would like to thank him for all he has given to the show over the years and look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.”

Louis recently told VIP Magazine, “ I’m happy. I’m back and Sharon is back, and Simon is back. And Dermot is back.
“I don’t know who the other person is going to be. I would love Nicole. I love her! I love her more than she knows. I tell her all the time.”
Even though work has yet to begin on the new series, Louis is already excited to get back into the swing of things.
“I haven’t even got the dates. But of course I’m looking forward to it coming back,” he beamed
