Lottie Ryan has opened up about her dream to follow in the footsteps of her dad, and have an ever-growing career in radio.
The presenter currently has her own weekend show on 2FM, and hopes that this is just the start for her, with bigger and better things to come.
Speaking to The Sun, Lottie said, “I think everybody wants a more high-profile show than the one they have. It’s only natural to be ambitious, but for now I am focusing on what I have.”
She continued, I want a long career in broadcasting, but I’m not setting any target. I’m living in the here and now.”
Lottie’s own show is going from strength to strength, as she seen a boost in listeners from the recent JNLR figures.
“Of course I’m delighted [with the ratings increase]. Who wouldn’t be? But at that time of the morning, there is a limit to how many people can listen, so JNLR figures aren’t all that important. But I was thrilled,” she said.
Working in 2FM, Lottie is now reminded all the time of her late dad, Gerry, and hopes to have a career which spanned as long as his.
“I always thought my dad brought magic to the radio. If some people are only recognising that now, that’s cool. I welcome all this positivity about dad,” she said.
Lottie’s show The Early, Early Breakfast show on 2FM is on air each Saturday and Sunday morning at 6am.
