So much to do, so little time.

Now that the winter weather is well and truly upon us, the urge to spend your weekend curled up on the couch watching Netflix is more tempting than ever, but if you can manage to get yourself out and about and resist hibernation tactics you won’t be disappointed – there’s so many events that’ll provide you with endless entertainment. Here are VIP’s top five things to do:

Christmas on the Square

Christmas lovers are in for a treat with this event at Merrion Square tomorrow. Christmas on the Square allows you to step back in time to Georgian Dublin and enjoy a traditional Christmas atmosphere as Merrion Square throws open its gates and doors and lights the sky bright with Christmas cheer at a series of seasonal events. See behind the doors of magnificent houses, walk through grand Georgian rooms and get a sense of how people lived over two hundred years ago with a whole host of events taking place on and around the Square from 10am – 5pm. From Christmas carols, creative Irish-made gifts and wonderful seasonal artisan food, the day offers something for all ages and tastes. The annual event takes place tomorrow, November 26th from 10am-5pm in Merrion Square, all of the events are free but some are ticketed – for more information click here.

Eatyard 

Eatyard

Eatyard is a brand new food market space on 9-10 South Richmond St right next door to The Bernard Shaw. From the same Bodytonic team that brought you BeatYard and the Big Grill festival, EatYard aims to build on these successes and deliver an incredible casual dining experience similar to those enjoyed in other vibrant capitals around the world, with the intention of combining talks and workshops as the market grows. Admission is free before 5pm each day, €2 thereafter. Under 18’s free all day, every day but they must be accompanied by adult.

Butlers Chocolate Café in Liffey Valley

The latest Butlers Chocolate Café opened this week in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre Dublin and it’s the perfect spot to pick up a well-earned Christmas treat! The full Butlers Chocolates Café menu of freshly prepared coffees, including lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas – not to mention Butlers justifiably famous hot chocolate in various delectable flavours, will be available in store. The new café is complete with the Butlers Chocolate Christmas Collection, including limited edition Chocolate Santas and Snowmen that can be personalised with the recipient’s name on the chocolate figure’s ribbon. So, why not get some of your christmas shopping done in in the newly refurbished West End Shopping Mall and treat yourself to a tasty drink after? Nothing says Christmas like a Butler’s white hot chocolate topped with a dollop of cream!

Tola Vintage Kilo Sale

Some of the the cities finest vintage clothes can be found at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel this Sunday. Tola Vintage Kilo Sale are hosting one of their notorious sales and at only €20 per kilo of clothing, you’re guaranteed to find some bargains! Entry is just €1 and the sale starts at 10am.

Gilmore Girls

If all of the above events aren’t enough to get you and about this weekend, we will give you permission – for this weekend only – to curl up on the couch and binge on the newly released Gilmore Girls series. If you plan on committing to Netflix’s four-part revival series make sure to stock up on copious amounts of junk food and have a constant supply of “coffee, coffee, coffee”.
