Laura Whitmore has revealed all about her fake social media persona. To fans it looks as if the presenter has a wildly exciting life, but Laura feels that this isn’t true for her.

The Bray native has over 500,000 followers on Instagram and almost 400,000 on Twitter, so it’s understandable that she would want to protect her personal life and keep the real stuff for herself.

Speaking to cyclist and author Breifne Earley on his podcast Laura said, “I live my life fake in the public eye. I’m big on social (media), I’m on Instagram but it’s not real life.

“We were working at Coachella music festival and you post a picture ‘oh great, we’re having a wonderful time’ but then you cut to real life, in bed, feeling terrible, feeling rough, that’s real life.

Her Instagram life is not her real life.

“What you put out there, you don’t have to give all yourself away which I’ve always been careful with.”

Former MTV star Laura also commented on the amount of fake relationships she’s reportedly been in. The media claimed she was dating a number of well-known faces but they were wholly untrue.

“I’ve had it before with well known people I’ve interviewed or talked to and have had apparent relationships which aren’t true.

“What is this, the dark ages? Do I not have an opinion myself on what I do? Man sees woman, she must want to sleep with him,” she said.
