Laura Nolan shares exciting next step with Matthew MacNabb

Laura Nolan

It’s all go for Laura Nolan. She is currently putting the final touches on her big day.

She and Matthew MacNabb will say “I do” in Kilkea Castle in two months, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

Those include some Dancing with the Stars alumni, including Paudie Moloney, Rhys McClenaghan and Niamh Kavanagh.

“Now I feel like I can actually think about it because I was so busy with Dancing with the Stars, my head was constantly in the studio. So we’re more or less there. I got my wedding website done, but I’ve been so slow with my official invites,” Laura tells us at the launch of the Platinum VIP Style Awards.

“I’m only sending them out next week! We’re two months away now but I have more less everything done. Now it’s just the little bits, the exciting bits – the flowers, the cake. It’s all so exciting. I’m really in it and I just can’t wait.”

One of those finishing touches includes picking up her wedding dress from Verona Bridal. She confesses it was a “surreal” feeling as she collected two gowns for the day.

“It’s really emotional! I didn’t know how I would feel being in a wedding dress because I’ve had so many dancing dresses and so many glam dresses on over the years. But there’s a completely different emotion attached to your wedding dress, especially when the veil goes on.

“My mam was in floods of tears. I’m trying to make the most of each individual moment as it’s happening. Everyone told me, you plan so much and you get to the day and it’s done then. Collecting the dress was this really special moment that you think of a little girl.”

But that’s not the only big life milestone she and Matthew have reached. They’ve recently gone sale agreed on a home.

“We’ve gone sale agreed! So it’s all happening. But anything could happen, so we haven’t officially said we have a house yet. It’s all go, it’s all exciting and we’re so delighted. We’ve found a place that we love. It happened in the right time for us.”

What an incredibly exciting time. And just after she reached the final of Dancing with the Stars for a second time.

“I was absolutely delighted to get to the final. I couldn’t believe it if I’m being honest. If you had have told me that at the start of the season I wouldn’t believe you,” she laughs.

“But as the weeks went on he got better and better. And people just loved Paudie. I love the show so much so to be able to go through the whole experience again was really, really special. Especially for Paudie, he’s going to be at the wedding too. So he’s going to bust out some of his dance moves that he learned along the way.”
