Professional dancer Laura Nolan had quite the year on Dancing With The Stars, reaching the semi-final and finding love with her celebrity partner Matthew MacNabb. But now Laura is opening up about life outside of the show.
While DWTS is where most of us saw Laura’s impressive skills, she was dancing long before the show. Saying on Instagram; “I started dancing at the age of 3, ballet, ballroom and Latin all in the one week.”
Meaning that the 27-year-old has been dancing for around 24 years!
Unsurprising as she set her sights on dancing professionally at a very young age. “I knew from very young I wanted to make dance my career. I was one of those in school who always said I’ll be a dancer when I’m older. I competed my whole life until I went on my first season of DWTS .”
“I then started to love working on tv . One of my ambitions would be to have my own show. I would also love one day to have my own clothing/beauty range”
Like her passion for dance, her love of fashion and beauty isn’t new, as the Dubliner revealed she has always had an interest in designing.
Saying; “I love creating and designing. It’s a passion of mine. I used to design all of my dancing dresses.”
So while her love of dance and design aren’t new, her relationship with Matthew certainly is. The pair confirmed their relationship during the shows semi-final and following the final episode, they headed for America and have been on a road trip ever since.
Opening up about why they work so well as a couple, Laura shared; “We’re great. Loving every minute of our holiday.”
“We work so well together. Support and push each other in every way.”
The couple only officially announced they were an item after they were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars with Matthew saying after the semi-final; “Me and Laura are dating. She’s my secret girlfriend.”
“We’ve been dating the past month or two and it’s been good. So I’m very grateful to the show,” he added. Laura explained that she didn’t see it coming, “It just so happened that we got on so well… It wasn’t something I predicted would happen, it just happened so naturally.”
Throughout the series rumours were swirling that Matthew had found love on the show, and they kicked into overdrive when judges Arthur Gourounlian and Brian Redmond both made comments hinting at a romance between the pair.
While reviewing their dance, Arthur said, “The chemistry between you two is flowing. Ooh la la! The song was called Anything For You, but I think you two are perfect for each other.”
While Brian claimed, “You certainly look like a happier boy this week. I’m not sure whether it’s the smell of those spring flowers or something else.”
