Laura Nolan has had the year of a lifetime.
She’s engaged, she’s spending time in LA with her fiancé Matthew MacNabb and she’s finally picked up the Dancing with the Stars Glitterball trophy.
We caught up with her at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards to find out how she’s juggling it all!

Congratulations on winning Dancing with the Stars!
Thank you so much, it was absolutely incredible. I loved every second of that season and looking back on it now, I’m like can we just do that all over again?! You know, after a few days of being off it, like having a few days of rest, you kind of just want to do it all over again. It was incredible.
You and Rhys killed it on the dance floor!
He was actually teaching me as well, he was teaching me to do backflips and front walkovers and stuff like that. I was so impressed with how he opened himself up to dance and how he really wanted to know about the styles and understand the background of it as well. But he was just incredible, to be able to work with somebody like him, a professional like him, an athlete like him was just really inspirational.
Honestly, we can’t believe it’s your first win!
It was my first final as well, so my first final, my first win. It all happened this year it was incredible. I love the show, I put so much into the show I really dedicate myself to it. So, to be able to come out with the glitter ball was just the most magical feeling ever.
How is engaged life?
Engaged life is so exciting it’s great, we’re having an absolute ball organising the wedding. We’re one year out now, we’ve booked May 30th next year, so we’re exactly a year out and we’re just trying to get everything booked in. I feel like we’re really coming along well with the organisation of it. Especially me, I’m not the most organised person, in the world, so I thought I’d be like, oh I don’t know I don’t know, but I’ve been really decisive. I’m like who is this person? I need to bring her more into my own life.
You’re definitely not a Bridezilla!
You know what, I’m very chilled, very relaxed when it comes to stuff like that so I just knew that we needed to get the stuff booked in that could be ‘oh sorry we’re booked up’ venders’ kind of thing. So, we’re doing well and it’s exciting.

We know you love to travel. Are you getting married in Ireland?
Yeah, so we’ve put our venue out there, so we’re getting married in Kilkee Castle next May. We’re really excited. I think Ireland is just the most amazing place to be married. Especially in a castle, like can you beat it? We’ve so many people from America coming over to it. Matthew has a lot of friends and family over in America, so they’re all coming over and they can’t believe that the castle is older than America. I think they’re just really impressed by that.
I know you’re back and forth from LA, so how has that been?
LA is great. Yeah, we’re kind of basing ourselves here at home and doing a little bit over there and coming back and forth, but it’s really good. We’re just trying to see what different opportunities there are out there. You know the entertainment industry; the dance industry is huge. So, we’ve done some mad things, met some incredible people. I ended up teaching Bob Shapiro, OJ Simpson’s lawyer. I did a show with him actually dancing with him so it’s just the people you meet out there is actually mad.
So casual!
Yeah, just as you do. Yeah, it’s just who you see and the people around. Once you’re in and around that, you just never know what opportunities can come your way.
And what’s the plan now for the summer?
So, we’re back now for a month and a half or so. We’re going to head back again. We have a few different opportunities with shows over there. So, we’ll see what the story is and then be back again. So, it’s kind of just going between the both. We were obviously at Coachella the last time we were over. I kind if felt like the last time, because it was a month, we had people coming over, we had our friends coming over to stay with us and it almost felt like more of a holiday than actually like living there. Then we went to Coachella and stuff so there was just so much going on, but now being back, we’re just again, kind of, we have a few work events, few corporate stuff, we kind of keep going with that. Once we go back, then we’ll kind of put the head down and start to work again.
