When Laura Fox hosted the 2024 Platinum VIP Style Awards she was still the host of a weekend 2FM show.
Now she’s stepped into her dream role of a five-day radio show on the station, she’s a fiancée and she’s in the midst of wedding planning.
But one thing that hasn’t changed is that she will be our fabulous Platinum VIP Style Awards host once again.
We chatted to her at the launch about her big year.

Laura! What a year you’ve had!
It’s been a big year. I can’t believe it’s been a year since the Style Awards! So much has happened. I was at the cusp of having my radio show. Since I was here with you last I got a five day radio show with 2FM, I got engaged and I had the best year of my life.
You’ve landed your dream job! What is that like?
I’ve made no secret about the fact that having a five day radio show on 2FM has been my dream forever. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. It’s the reason why I moved to Dublin 10 years. It was all to try to get to this place. And I don’t mean to sound like a sap, I could literally smile from ear to ear every day. I work with literally the most amazing people. I’m part of the most phenomenal people. We have the craic, we get the work done. The 2FM listeners are just deadly buzz. They interact with the show the whole time! They’re all up for a bit of fun and that’s all we’re about. We’re up for a bit of fun and a bit of light entertainment.
Of course, that’s not the only big news!
And I’m engaged! It all happened so quick. 10 years together – I never saw it coming. [Laughs]
Tell us about wedding planning…
Wedding planning is done! Myself and Brian went to a wedding three years ago and we said if we were ever to get married that was what we were going to do. So we just robbed our friend’s blueprint and booked everything the day after we got engaged. It’s done! I nearly have my dress sorted. My bridesmaids’ dresses are done. Now we’re just waiting for it to come around!

How is the wedding dress hunting coming along?
I had booked in my appointment in Verona Bridal months ago. I didn’t want to go to early, so I waited until after Christmas to book it. But then everyone was up there. Louise was up there, Molly was up there, Laura was up there. They are so on the ball up there. They had taken all their dresses off the floor so I couldn’t be tempted.
You’re having a ball then!
It is so much fun. Because I have so much time, I didn’t feel any pressure. I wasn’t being forced into having to order anything right away so it would be ready for the wedding. I still have a year and a half before the wedding. We went up and as my friends like to say, I can make an event out of absolutely anything. We went for brunch, we had a couple of glasses of champagne and we tried on some dresses. This place was amazing.
