However, Laura revealed that it “was all a ploy to throw me off” before adding the event was actually cancelled!
“It was actually the most relaxed fun day ever. He was flat out trying to get me up a mountain all week for our anniversary but I just wanted to go to the waterpark so I compromised (hehe) and said I’d do the stargazing the following week instead of the hike,” she wrote on social media.
“We had the best day at the park, came home, went for a dip, got champagne, went to dinner that we laughed the whole way through. Then I wanted to go back to the room after to take a video of this dress, change my shoes and drink champagne on the balcony.
“So he let me get it all set up while he went to the loo and then you can clearly see him in the back of the video getting the ring box out and walking out the door and I was OBLIVIOUS.
“Then he dropped down on one knee and I couldn’t talk for about 20 mins. He caught me so off guard, it was so perfect and so us and that’s all I ever wanted (and to be surprised, don’t ask for much hahaha).”
She also explained that Brian had proposed with a promise ring and they went ring shopping when they got back to Ireland.
“Hadn’t planned to get it so quick. I had actually said let’s tear the a**e out of ring shopping for a few weeks with all the champers and trying on (I loved it!!).
“But we left our ring appointment and walked past another shop and popped in and the girl in there just asked me to try this one on and I fell in love! We came back first thing the next day to get it because I couldn’t stop thinking about it.”

Laura and Brian will walk down the aisle in 2026, opting to get married abroad.
“Our families are both so annoyed about because they want it asap!! & But next year is too soon for us because we’re saving for a mortgage and I am going to take the p*** out of this,” she explained.
“Me and B had always talked about getting married hence why everything is booked so quick but I was always adamant that I didn’t want to get engaged until I had my career sorted. A) because there were so many things I was focused on achieving for myself and B) because I wanted to be able to equally pay for our wedding.
“Choose a life that suits you and don’t ever do things for other people and remember that Instagram is a snapshot of people’s lives.”
Aw, congrats Laura!
