Late Late Toy Show star Adam King has suffered a femur fracture, and while he’s in quite a bit of pain, he’s still in good spirits.

Following an accident over the weekend, the 6-year-old injured his thigh bone and was brought to Cork University Hospital, where he was told he wouldn’t need to go under the knife to repair the damage.

In a post shared on social media, his parents said, “As you all know Adam has brittle bones and sadly he suffered a femur fracture this weekend.

“Thankfully he does not require surgery this time. He is happy to be home but is very sore. Please keep him in your thoughts.”

They continued, “We may be a little bit quieter on here for a few days. Thanks to our family, friends and everyone here for your love and support. Hugs.”

His parents took a moment to thank the doctors and nurses who have continued to look after Adam, revealing their help and kind nature is always appreciated.

“As always, our family are beyond grateful for the professionalism, care and genuine love shown to Adam by everyone in our hospital system. To support the amazing work of Cork University Hospital please visit cuhcharity.ie.”

Adam became a national treasure following his appearance on the Late Late Toy Show last year.

He created a virtual ‘Hug For You’, as people up and down the country haven’t been able to see their loved ones during lockdown.

His poster has since been turned into a card for Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day, and even a gold badge too, which Taoiseach Micheál Martin wore during the annual St. Patrick’s Day meeting with US president, Joe Biden.

He pinned it to his blazer alongside some shamrock for the big day, showing it off for everyone to see.

“So pleased to share an #adamsvirtualhug from an extraordinary boy on a very special day,” he said.

Adam’s family were overcome with emotion as they realised he wore the badge and took to social media to share their delight.

“Our family are beyond proud that, on behalf of the people of Ireland, our Taoiseach shared #Adamsvirtualhug with President Biden on Saint Patrick’s Day.

“We are lost for words. Truly humbling. The smallest gestures can have the greatest impact,” they said.
