It’s one of our favourite nights of the year as we sit down with our loved ones to watch the Late Late Toy Show, and while it won’t be back on our screens until winter, it seems plans have already been set in motion for this year’s show.

Ryan Tubridy shared his delight, admitting the countdown is officially back on, as the much loved show will be taking place on November 26th.

Sharing a snap of a calendar, he said, “Our 2021 Planner arrived. Only one certainty! Tinsel marks the spot.”

Due to Covid-19, lockdown restrictions and social distancing guidelines,  last year’s show was a little different but still equally as magical as any other in the past.

We were introduced to the wonderful Adam King who lifted spirits, offering virtual hugs to everyone across the country, the brilliant Saoirse Ruane and many, many more.

During the show, RTE launched a fundraiser in a bid to help children’s charities across the country – and donations rolled in with haste.

Half of the money raised will go to three lead charities; Barnardo’s, Children’s Health Foundation and Children’s Books Ireland, while the remaining sum will be given as grants to various others.

Over €6million was raised that weekend, leaving Ryan blown away by the generosity of our nation.

“To all the wonderful people behind the scenes, to all the children and to all of you who showed such kindness at such a difficult time, thank you from the bottom of my happy heart,” he said.
