Hurrah! Another celebrity we love that we can claim as one of our own.
Yes, Jodie Comer, who is best known for her role as Villanelle in Killing Eve, has opened up about her Irish ancestry, which is traced to the beautiful county Mayo, would you believe?!
Speaking to the Irish Independent, Jodie admitted: “I do have Irish roots!
“My grandad’s side of the family are from Westport,” she further revealed.

“I’ve just been filming in Belfast, and I was like I really want to go to Westport, but I think I’m gonna come back next year with my dad and see it properly.
“It’s a bit of a summer hotspot, though, right? Everyone was saying that it can get very busy.”
While she hasn’t gotten a taste of what Westport has to offer just yet, Jodie previously enjoyed a brief stint in Ireland while filming the movie, The Last Duel, with Matt Damon.
Yes, Jodie, Matt, and Adam Driver were spotted filming in Co. Wicklow at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

The trio later made their way to Tipperary, where they shot scenes at the stunning Cahir Castle.
Talk about a dreamy filming location!
And as for Westport locals, we’d be keeping an eye out if we were you, because Jodie is bound to pop up there as soon as she gets the chance.
