Nearly a year has passed since double Olympic gold medalist Kellie Harrington stepped into retirement—but she’s hardly taking it easy.
Instead, she’s embracing new challenges and mapping out an exciting next chapter.
Yes, the Portland row boxer hung up her gloves last year after retaining her Gold medal at the Paris Olympic games.
And now having just turned 35, could a presidential run be on the horizon for Kellie?

Appearing on Oliver Callan’s Radio 1 show on Monday, Oliver noted that she was “eligible” to run having turned 35 years old.
“I have no clue how to go for President’s role, but lookit,” the Dublin native laughed.
“I’m the President of Dublin 1, and that’s all that matters, really.”
Kellie did however note that she would “love to live in his gaff”.
“Imagine living up there. The dogs would have an absolute ball up there.”

Further touching on her retirement plans, when asked if she would consider taking up a high-performance gig within Sport Ireland or something similar, Kellie admitted that she “would definitely explore it,” despite not having been approached yet.
“At the moment, I’d love to have some kind of coffee shop, I love bringing people together,” she also revealed.
“I’d love to bring out a tea brand. Kellie’s Tea. Two sips and you’re hooked or like, Kellie’s Tea: There’s a real punch to it.”
There certainly is!
