Dee Ahearn, CEO, Barretstown with charity ambassador Keith Barry, welcomes April Banks (10) Barretstown’s 100,000th camper. To mark this milestone the charity is launching a national campaign aiming to raise €100,000 and encourage the public to volunteer to support its vital work. Barretstown is the largest and most established organisation in Ireland providing therapeutic recreation camps and programmes to children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses. With only 2% of government funding annually, the charity is reliant on donations and the fundraising efforts of corporate supporters, individuals and community groups.
