Dancing with the Stars came to an end on Sunday night after a nail biting finale.

Danny O’Carroll and Salome Chachua, Kayleigh Trappe and Ervinas Merfeldas, Jack Woolley and Alex Vladimirov and Rhys McClenaghan and Laura Nolan all battled it out for the Glitterball trophy.

Ultimately it was Rhys and Laura who were crowned the winners.

Speaking about her time on the show, Kayleigh joked: “I will not be crying in this video for a change.”

“Lads, last night was just incredible. I woke up this morning ready to get the schedule sent to me of where I’ll be, what dance I’m doing this week, and it didn’t come. The comedown is going to be tough for me.

“But we’re onto the next thing and I’m delighted for Rhys and Laura. Delighted for the whole gang really, it was a night to remember. Having everybody back, the judges were in good form, the crew were in good form behind the scenes; everything was just perfect last night.”

She went on to enthuse: “I can’t thank you enough for the support yesterday. I wasn’t on my phone much because I wanted to soak it all up but I still can’t believe you guys got me to the final. I’m delighted and I couldn’t be happier. I’m on cloud nine, thank you.”

Kayleigh thanked her pro partner Ervinas, saying: “We’re basically in each others pockets for the last two months, we haven’t had one day apart, not one day apart, in over three months. We became great friends and I have a friend for life with Ervinas.”

She did herself proud in one of the most competitive Dancing with the Stars seasons yet!
