Kayleigh Trappe is a proud Monaghan woman.
And one thing Monaghan is known for is its grá for country music and an oul jive.
Kayleigh jokes that she’s been told not to come home if she gets kicked out this week.
“It’s Country Week so it’s going to be so much fun!” Kayleigh tells VIP Magazine.

“Hit the Diff is the national anthem in Monaghan so I was expecting to get Joyce Country Céilí Band or something like that. Monaghan is so well known for its country music and jiving. But I got the absolutely iconic Dolly Parton! You can’t get any better than that.”
She admits: “I hope to do it justice. I know all the country fans around Ireland will be watching me very closely. I can’t wait to embrace the theme. It’s the first year of Country Week and I think it’s a golden idea.”
So is the pressure on to represent her county?

“Pretty much if I’m booted out this week, my family is locking the door and I can go somewhere else,” she laughs.
“No, I’m not worried, I see it as a motivation. I want to be my county proud, I want to do rural Ireland proud. So many people, like Marty Mone, have been onto me to wish me well. I think it’s fantastic. So nothing to worry about. I don’t think….yet!”
