Katja Mia is the star of the show. She has been building her platform steadily over the last few years and it paid off when she landed the highly sought-after role of Ireland AM presenter.
It’s not lost on her how incredible the achievement is. Especially at such a young age.
Speaking to VIP Magazine for our latest issue she remembers the emotional moment when she was able to share the news with the world.
“When I do have those moments alone and I can sit down to think about what I’ve done in the last year and a half, I get emotional,” she explains.
“When I was allowed to announce I was joining Ireland AM I was flying home from London, by myself. I was listening to Sza’s song 20 Something and the lyrics are really special, they’re all about finding your feet when you’re 20-something, you don’t have a house yet, or kids, you’re not married and it’s such a finding yourself age.
“I felt like I found something solid in my life and it made me emotional, and then with all the love I was getting from people, I just started crying. I was sitting alone in the airport so I probably looked like an absolute weirdo. Someone probably thought I had just got broken up with, but I was so happy. I want to keep going, I’m really proud of myself.”
And she should be proud of herself!
