Kathryn Thomas has worked on some of Ireland’s most popular shows, like No Frontiers, The Voice, and Operation Transformation. And her latest series looks set to be just as good.
Speaking to us at the Platinum VIP Style Awards, the Carlow native shared some details on what we can expect from her next show.
Airing later this year, the series follows the lives of those in need of life-changing surgeries.
As she explained: “I am working on a new TV show at the moment, which will be on air in October. So I’ve been spending an awful lot of time in a hospital theatre, witnessing people going through surgeries. So it has been very eye-opening, pretty incredible and very inspiring, seeing people going through some life-changing surgical decisions.”
“Its not aesthetic, so its life-threating or life-altering,” she continued, describing the show as, “not heavy, but up-lifting.”
As for what is was like for the presenter to work on series exploring such personal situations, she explained: “To be able to be with people who are going through something like that, its very special when people let you in and just to see where medical science has taken us and to see where surgical technologies have gone, I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to that, so to see the procedures that can happen now, when I tell you my jaw taken to the floor. It’s like wow.”
And, of course, it wouldn’t be the most glam night of the year without the inside scoop on Kathryn’s beauty routine, so the presenter shared her three dessert island beauty products with us.
