Kathleen Wakins looked glamorous as ever as she enjoyed a night out at the theatre.
The children’s author was joined by a whole host of famous faces as she attended the opening night of The Lieutenant of Inshore at the Gaiety.
Oozing elegance and class, Kathleen stunned in a crisp white jacket, paired with simple black trousers and a monochrome scarf.

It’s been a difficult few months for Kathleen, who sadly lost her husband Gay Byrne last Novemeber.
Following a two year battle with prostate cancer, the acclaimed broadcaster passed peacefully surrounded by his family in their Howth home.
Gay became a household name when he began working on RTE’s Late Late Show in the 60’s. He continued to work there for a further 37 years, until he retired in 1999.

Paying tribute to Gay, RTÉ Director-General, Dee Forbes, said, “We are all greatly saddened by the passing of Gay Byrne. He was an exceptional broadcaster whose unique and ground-breaking style contributed so much to the development of radio and television in this country.
“Gay’s journalistic legacy is as colossal as the man himself – he not only defined generations, but he deftly arbitrated the growth and development of a nation.
“Ireland grew up under Gay Byrne, and we will never see his like again. My deepest sympathies to Kathleen and his family.”
