Katelyn Cummins has revealed that she learned that she had Ballroom connections ahead of the Dancing with the Stars finale.
The Rose of Tralee has been topping the leaderboard week after week and could definitely lift the Mirrorball on Sunday night.
While she has no dance experience before stepping onto the dancefloor, it is in her blood.
“‘I only recently learned this, actually, during the show, but my granddad and my granny were ballroom dancers, and they used to compete,” she shared with VIP Magazine.

“My granddad passed away about a year and a half ago, and to know that he’s up there watching and that he’s proud, which I never knew that they were competitive ballroom dancers, but to make him proud that would mean absolutely everything as well.”
Speaking about her time on Dancing with the Stars, she confessed that she would “love” to lift the Mirrorball on SUnday.
“I would love to. It’s definitely in reach now I think. Hopefully. We would love to win, I think it’s a dream of ours now that we have gotten this far.”
She added that she is making the “most of every opportunity” since winning the Rose of Tralee in the summer.

“I think I’ve fulfilled every opportunity to the best of my ability.”
And those opportunities are still rolling in as she will have a very packed schedule after the DWTS final.
“The day after the final, I fly to New York for the St Patrick’s Day parade, with the other Roses and Escorts. I’m in New York for four days, then Texas for three days for the Texas road selection,” she said.
“Then I’m heading up to Nashville for four days, and then I’m on to Canada for a week. I was supposed to be flying to Boston next Friday before the final.
“And because of being in the final and everything, and because I wanted to be there on the night of the show, whether I was there or not, I decided to fly out the next day after the final to New York.”
