Karen Koster and Greg O’Shea bid a tearful farewell to The Six O’Clock Show

Karen Koster and Greg O’Shea said farewell to The Six O’Clock Show on Tuesday evening.

It was definitely an emotional goodbye filled with a lot of tears.

As the pair said their farewells, Karen got choked up as she told Greg: “I have had a ropey year and a half with all the personal stuff going on and you have been the best person to come in to.”

Despite her tears, she continued: “To all the crew on the floor, you’re amazing at your job. To the people who do the prep, honestly- this is the easiest job I’ve had in 20 years because they work so hard at what they do and they makes us feel good.”

While Greg told Karen: “Honestly, it’s been such an honour having you through last year. You’ve had such an amazing presenters like Martin and Tommy, and then I got to be with you through last year.

“And you’ve honestly brought me on so far. I don’t know where I’m going to go, but I’ve you to thank. Honestly, you’ve trained me up so much.”

The pair then took to social media to share their farewells for those who may have missed their final episode.

Karen shared a black-and-white shot of herself and Greg hugging with the caption: “Never met a gem like @gregoshea. His good energy can make you glow. He gave me a lift in a year when I needed it. And he even got me working out again.

“So happy I got a year beside him, a whole year of finishing each other’s…sandwiches.”

Greg commented: “I’ve been trying to hold it together but this finally cracked me. You’re such a special person and I am so grateful I got to work alongside you, your kids better love you so much for this decision !!!!”

He then shared his own post, writing: “It’s always the people that make it so special.

“I can honestly say I am heartbroken to be leaving this family. You are all genuinely such decent human beings, and I know how hard that is to come by in todays world so thank you for just being good people to be around.


“@karenkostertv your kids better love you even more now because they are getting to hang out with you every day. You are a true friend and a ray of sunshine for me that I’m seriously gonna miss.”
