Joe Duffy has revealed that he was initially reluctant to write his latest book when he was first approached about it.
The Liveline host has already written other books including an autobiography and a 1916-themed book titled Children of the Rising.
His new book is quite different however, as it instead looks spots around Dublin that are significant to him. The radio star admitted that while he wasn’t sure about it in the beginning he enjoying putting the book together once he got started.
“It’s all about places in Dublin that have meaning for me. A publisher approached me and I was reluctant,” he explained speaking exclusively to VIP.
“But I started about six months ago and I can’t believe how curious I’ve been about some of the places, a lot of them are fairly offbeat.”

Joe added that the book will also feature some of his artwork.
“It’s Duffy’s Dublin. It’s about unearthing the history of areas and I think I’ve come up with some places that are interesting. I paint a little bit, so they want some postcards of my images as well, so fingers crossed.”
