Jess Redden has shared an emotional post to social media as she qualified as fully fledged pharmacist this week. The Irish influencer revealed the exciting news that she had passed all of her exams and how proud she knows her late father would be of her.

She wrote a short poem to mark the occasion; “Today I got the good news that I’ve long been dreaming of, but all I can help thinking is do they hear it up above?”

“I like to think they can and that they’re with you all along, They’ll celebrate your success even though they’re gone, Even when you achieve your dreams it’s okay to still be sad, I hope that you are proud of me wherever you are Dad.”

Jess’ Dad sadly passed away in September 2020 and she often speaks candidly about her grief and shares updates with her followers with how she’s getting on. Jess admits the toughest part of the whole experience, was watching her dad suffer towards the end of his life.

He spent his final days in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, but Jess and her family would have loved for him to be able to go home instead. Speaking on Brian Dowling’s podcast, Death Becomes Him last year she said; “Bar how I feel now, that was the worst part of it. Seeing what he had to go through, that was tough.”

“He was just so positive in the face of it all and all he wanted was to get home but with Covid and everything else it wasn’t feasible. We kept telling him, ‘Yeah dad, you’re coming home, you’re coming home’ and sadly he never did get to come home.”

Last year, after multiple delays Jess married her longtime love, rugby star Rob Kearney. The pair married in a beautiful ceremony in the Trump International Hotel in Doonbeg, Co Clare, surrounded by their friends and family.

Since then the couple have been on their honeymoon, but unfortunately Jess tested positive a for Covid a couple of days after they arrived. The pharmacist revealed that they could have waited to go on their honeymoon but that she “wanted a break from work and a holiday with my husband post wedding.”

Unfortunately the couple did not get the break they had envisioned; “Felt very emotional and certainly not the honeymoon we had planned but just glad that everyone I love is safe.”

“We’re all in unchartered territory so just trying to do the best we can. Felt awful to miss work but so many of us are in the same boat- trying to practice what I aways preach and just be gentle and kind to myself.”

Sending our congratulations to Jess on her wonderful exam news!
