Jess Redden sadly lost her father to cancer in 2020.
She has been open about his death and how she has handled grief over the last four years.
To commemorate his birthday, Jess shared a beautiful tribute to her father.
She posted a picture of them together along with a lengthy caption as she discussed the grief of losing a parent.
“Some days it catches me that you are not here. But we are doing so well Dad, so you don’t have to fear,” she wrote.
“I see you in rainbows, in robins and dreams I see you in Bobby, in his smile when it gleams. For you may not be earth side `but I know you’re never too far away. What I would give just to hug you today.
“Life can be cruel and unfair it is true. But today I feel lucky for time spent with you. You made me feel happy, supported and loved. I know you’re still watching from up there above.”
She went on to say: “‘Happy birthday my hero, my angel, my dad. I know that today it’s okay to be sad.”
She added: ” ‘Sending love to anyone navigating grief today and every day. How proud they’d be of us.”
What a beautiful tribute.
