Virgin Media’s brand new talent show The Big Deal premiered last night, giving viewers what they’ve been waiting for after months of teasing the show.
Former X-Factor contestants Jedward are among the big name judges on the show, along with Deirdre O’Kane, Lyra and Boy George.
According to The Irish Sun, Jedward were pretty excited to meet one of their fellow judges in particular, they said, “Seeing Boy Goerge, we’re all so starstruck!
“George is a very welcoming, very witty guy. On the day we first met, the day before we started filming the show and it was just nice to touch base and go, ‘You know what, we’re going to make a good show here’.”
They also had some words of praise for Irish presenter Vogue Williams who hosts the show, “Vogue Williams is a super mom, she’s literally doing running, climbing, turning up to host a show – I don’t know how she does it all!,” they said.
Edward, one half of Jedward, told Ireland AM about the experience being a judge rather than a contestant in a talent show, “It’s such a 360 experience, to be the talent on stage to judging – it’s just such a great experience.
“It’s crazy that it’s been over 10 years and we’re here now in 2021 and it’s so great to get to give people this opportunity because this is the biggest stage they’re ever going to be on.”
Host of the show Vogue Williams shared a post before the show premiered yesterday saying, “Tonight is the night!!!! The Big Deal starts at 8pm on @virginmediatelevision . To say I’m excited for you to watch this and see the talent is an understatement… hope you enjoy ❤️”.
The Big Deal returns next Saturday with more talent!
