Former X-Factor contestants and now The Big Deal judges are household names in Ireland and the UK, although they’ve always kept their dating life out of the spotlight, until now.
Speaking to Goss.ie John and Edward opened up about their romantic lives and how they think they could improve the online dating scene.
John told Goss.ie, “Most people I’ve dated haven’t been in the spotlight. I’ve had a girlfriend from Cork, Dublin, America…”

Even though he hasn’t dated many celebrities John did dabble in the celebrity dating app Raya, which celebs such as Channing Tatum and Lily Allen have used.
Speaking of the exclusive app he said, “My friend got me on it and I saw Doja Cat which was amazing!”
Edward has also steered away from publicised romances and admitted during his stint in hospital this year he met “someone he could marry”.
Although the romance was short lived the singer explained, “I kind of let it end. I didn’t pursue it…I had a very whirlwind moment when I was in hospital but yeah, I kept it all professional”.

Edward insisted that his career doesn’t define his dating life; “A lot of people try to talk about singers and famous people as if their careers are different to anyone else’s. It’s just more a public job and career.
“As long as someone knows what they’re doing and what direction they’re going in, what they want in life, that’s the kind of person you want [to date]. They have their own thing going on,” he continued.
The pair also thinks that there’s more that could be done to make dating apps successful and hope to develop their own platform.

John explained; “I feel like things could be a lot more exciting and better than they are, so I’d like to develop my own dating app and promote it on Planet Jedward.”
“We want the whole nation on it. I think it could be a worldwide thing!”
We can’t wait to see what’s next for these two!
They can be seen on The Big Deal on Saturday night at 8pm on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.
