Jamie Dornan isn’t happy about people perceiving 50 Shades Of Grey as a joke

The actor has spoken out against the opinion that the trilogy was “just a bit of a joke”.

Dornan took on the iconic role of Christian Grey, in the franchise based on E.L James’ widely read novels.

He explained that the series did a lot for his career and took a lot of hard work and that he doesn’t like when their efforts are dismissed.

Speaking to GQ, the Northern Irish actor said, “Look, put it this way: it’s done no harm to my career to be part of a movie franchise that has made more than one billion dollars,” he said. “Every working actor would say the same thing. It’s provided – a lot.

“There’s no shame in saying it’s transformed my life and my family’s life financially. I am very, very grateful for this and always will be. And the fans loved it.

“I take issue with the whole thing being just a bit of a joke. Everyone involved worked as hard as they could on those films, including myself.”

Jamie’s work on the series really has been beneficial to his career, with him now being considered as the possible next James Bond this experience may give him an edge against his competition.

As source told OK! Magazine,“He’s already shown he has what it takes to see a franchise through to success with Fifty Shades of Grey…”

We would love to see an Irish actor take on such an iconic role once again!

We will be keeping an eye out for the new cast announcement to keep you updated with any more news.
