Jack Keating has opened up about being “nepo baby”.

While he admitted that having famous parents definitely has its perks, he also discussed growing up in the public eye.

Speaking to fellow “nepo baby” Phoenix Chi Brown, who is the daughter of Spice Girl Mel B, for her Channel 4 documentary I’m A Nepo Baby and Faked My Art Career, he discussed his parents’ public divorce.

“Going through those crappy moments, like when my parents got divorced. Going through those tough moments, you’re in the limelight. It wasn’t great.

“When they first got divorced I think I was 13 or 14, and there was paparazzi outside the door every day, [you] couldn’t leave the house for two weeks. You almost feel like other people’s property.”

Ronan and Yvonne tied the knot in 1998 but divorced in 2012 after he admitted to having an affair with a dancer from his tour.

The couple share Missy, Jack and Ali together.

Ronan has since remarried Storm Keating and are the parents to two children, Cooper and Coco. While Yvonne has been in a happy relationship with cinematographer John Conroy for a number of years.

Jack went on to say that being a nepo baby definitely has it’s perks and has opened some doors for him. However, he explained that having famous parents can only get you so far.

“Being a nepo baby, it can get you in the right places and meetings and through the right doors, but if you’re not funny, if you’re not charismatic you’re going to last a day or two and get caught out pretty quickly,” he confessed.

He went on to add about his own career in radio, after he joined SPIN1038 earlier this year: “If you were crap on air they wouldn’t put you on.”

But his biggest nepo perk has to be the private jets his family has taken over the years. How swanky!

“When I was really young we flew a lot on private jets to certain places. Another time we got on a normal British Airways (plane), and I was like ‘Dad, why are there other people on our plane right now?'” he joked.

“My Dad was like ‘shut up!’ He was like, ‘right , you’re cut off, back to normal life for you.'”
