Former Fair City actress Clelia Murphy has become the sixth celebrity confirmed for Dancing with the Stars.
While the RTE show won’t be back on our screens until the new year, the line-up is being revealed this week.
So far, Mairead Ronan, Eilish O’Carroll, Darren Kennedy, Holly Carpenter and Fred Cooke have all been announced, and now, Clelia is set to dust off her dancing shoes too.
“I can’t believe I’m doing Dancing with the Stars. I’m still in a bit of shock that I said yes,” she said.
“It’s unlike anything I’ve ever done before and that’s exactly why it makes it so beautifully terrifying and thrilling all at the same time.
“I’m sorry now that I didn’t stick with dance classes as a child,” Celia laughed.
“I’m normally dressed from head to toe in black and I’m finding myself in a glorious rainbow sea of glitter and sequins and Spanx! I’m so far out of my comfort zone but I kind of love it.”
It’s a year of big changes, as Jennifer Zamparelli is set to take over from Amanda Byram, hosting the show alongside Nicky Byrne.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Dancing with the Stars team,” Jen said.
“I was lucky enough to witness the live production first-hand last year when I sat in the audience supporting Bernard O’Shea and I was genuinely so impressed by the overall scale of the show.
“I can’t wait to get my glam on and start entertaining the nation on Sunday nights and who better to do it with than the fabulous Nicky Byrne.”
