VIP’s February issue is here and it’s simply gorgeous, if we do say so ourselves.
We’ve given our magazine a little bit of a makeover as we settle into a new year. So we hope you love it just as much as we do!
We have the fabulous Karen Koster as our cover star, in her first sit-down interview since she stepped away from The Six O’Clock Show.
She tells us that it was never her intention to quit working forever.
“Being a staff member is a major security, it’s something no one gives up easily so writing that resignation letter was hard. I also had never quit anything in my life before. What I said was, ‘I’m not never going to work again, it’s just I can’t show up four days a week anymore’,” she tells us.
Elsewhere we caught up with Paralympian Ellen Keane, who discusses her decision to retire from swimming at the age of 30.
“Retiring is a bittersweet moment and a little bit scary but I’m excited to be a beginner and start over again,” she explains.
Louise Duffy returned to radio a year ago, she took over from Ronan Collins after he announced his retirement in December 2022.
Now speaking to VIP Magazine, she confesses: “The last year has been quite hectic for me, getting into a rhythm with the show.”
We also sit down with Deirdre O’Kane to find out what TV has shaped her, Lyra about what music made her, Australian novelist Madeleine Gray ahead of her debut novel and Eileen Dunne about her life lessons.
Inside the February issue, we also got the chance to catch up with Tommy Bowe, we dived into Loraine Barry’s makeup bag, took a look inside Alison Curtis’ home and got a health kick with Dr Ciara Kelly.
We have plenty of gorgeous fashion bits for the still chilly Spring, some stunning beauty bits, including skincare for menopause and dreamy recipes to revamp your dinners this February.
