Mart Whelan has revealed that he would be happy to be offered a role on a chat show on RTE.
The 61-year-old is currently presenting Winning Streak on Saturday nights, but he says he would ‘be happy’ to join the likes of Ryan Tubridy and Ray Darcy on another chat show, whether it be RTE or TV3.
“I had one years ago. It was recorded. It wasn’t live. It was called Off The Record and it was great fun,” Marty told The Herald.
“I would be more than happy to do one but is there space for another? We have Ray on Saturday and the Late Late on Friday.
“There’s Sunday night, obviously, but have we enough people to talk to? That’s the thing. But would I like to do it? Absolutely,” he said.
“If TV3 wanted to poach me that would be a conversation that would have to be had. They wouldn’t come to me directly.”
“It’s going great. We had great figures last Saturday. It was the first one back so you’re kind of going, ‘What do we do now?.
“We’re against X Factor and Strictly on the BBC but there’s nothing like it. Thank God for it.”
