This year we have not one but two Irish Love Island contestants starting off in the show.
Usually us Irish win big in the reality show. We mean, just look at Maura Higgins!
Megan, who was one of the first contestants announced this year, impressed during the first episode.
In fact, she might just be in one of the most stable couples…although it is just night one.

Megan chose to couple up with Tommy based solely on his dating profile before he entered the villa. But things have panned out alright for the two of them.
They’ve bonded over their Italian heritage with Tommy stating: “My nonna’s watching this. She’ll be buzzing.”
Look, we’re not saying we have our winners but…
While Megan is absolutely flying it in the villa, our other Irish hopeful Conor is not doing as well.

Like we said, this year, the show has opted for a different format for the first coupling of the season. Instead of stepping forward for the boy or girl you like, the girls were forced to choose who to couple up with based on their dating profile.
Sight unseen!
Unfortunately this didn’t fair well for poor 23-year-old Conor, who was deemed too young by the women on the show.
Helena wanted to couple up with Harry who was 30 to her 29. However, in the mad dash to claim their man, she ended up beside Conor’s profile.
“Helena, you’re with Conor, I thought you didn’t like rugby players?” host Maya Jama pointed out.

“I know but nobody else wants to swap, does anyone want to swap? I don’t want the 23-year-old he’s a bit too young though,” she confessed.
However, the pair were coupled up although Conor confessed that he didn’t usually go for blondes.
So this is clearly a match made in heaven!
Well, we’ll just have to keep watching to find out what happens…
Love Island season 12 continues tonight on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media Two at 9pm.
