The influencer and author announced the exciting news of her new home recently, but unfortunately the move has been put on hold due to Covid-19.

Posting a positive Covid test on her story yesterday, Melanie wrote, “Rona finds me the day that essentially all restrictions are lifted. Came on me yesterday! Omicron for me = mild fever and a painful back, which is a weird symptom to have from a virus… And It sure does complicate breastfeeding a teething toddler, owwweee. Night sweats too, bit of a sore throat.”

Coming on to chat on her Instagram stories Melanie reassured followers that she is “fine” but said, “It’s just annoying that this is happening in the middle of moving house, as if I don’t have enough things to be doing.”

On day two of her isolation she gave her followers an update saying, “Now, it’s just a dry cough and sore throat, feel good. The ‘Omicron back ache’ is still strong though!”

Luckily Melanie isn’t feeling too under the weather and hopefully will recover fully very soon.

The timing isn’t ideal of course, as just recently she shared the exciting house news to social media alongside a snap of her holding the keys to their new place. Sharing the pictures to Instagram she said; “A HOMEOWNER, AT LAST!”

“After many years of studying, working, renting and saving, my husband and I have bought a beautiful bungalow together in Dublin! Our own home!”

Continuing, she shared that the previous owners had lived there for fifty years and that you can feel the love in every room.

Melanie has been sharing the many ups and downs of buying a home on social media since they first began the process. Revealing the joy she felt to get the keys she said;  “I’ve never been as happy or as excited as I am today, holding these keys, feet planted on my own bit of earth.”

“Ten years ago, I’d go for walks listening to music and I’d daydream about this day. I’d imagine what it would feel like when it eventually happened. And it feels even better than I ever thought it possibly could. I’m so grateful for this and I always will be.”
