Irish chef confirmed as Greg Wallace replacement on MasterChef

It’s official, Irish chef Anna Haugh will replace Gregg Wallace on MasterChef.

Following misconduct allegations, long-time judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode have both stepped away from the hit BBC cooking competition.

But the drama hasn’t stopped production, with the broadcaster pressing ahead and airing the latest season.

With Wallace resigning last November, Anna was brought in to spice things up as judge for the remaining instalments.

And now it looks like she’s here to stay!

Taking to social media to announce the news, Anna said: “I’m delighted to be back on MasterChef and judging alongside the wonderful Grace Dent, whose writing and wit I’ve admired for years.

“MasterChef has long inspired and resonated with cooks in home kitchens and of course, in my industry.

“I can’t wait to get into the studio for what will be a great competition.”

While Grace added: “I’m over the moon to be coming back to the MasterChef kitchen and unearthing what culinary skills people have been cooking up behind closed doors.

“It’s a joy to be working with Anna, who brings all her incredible experience to the table. I am in for such a treat with this series, I can’t wait to get started.”

The Dublin-born chef is the owner of Myrtle Restaurant in London, having honed her skills under Derry Clarke at the Michelin-starred L’Ecrivain and later working with Gordon Ramsay.

So safe to say, she’ll make an excellent judge!
