Irish talent has just been going from strength to strength over the past few years.
And it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop in 2026!
Irish band Florence Road smashed onto the scene this year, supporting artists like Olivia Rodrigo, sombr and The Last Dinner Party.
And it seems like 2026 will be their year.

The band is made up of childhood friends Lily Aron (Vocals), Emma Brandon (Guitar), Ailbhe Barry (Bass) and Hannah Kelly (Drums).
They spent their teens perfecting their craft in Aron’s garden shed in Wicklow, refining a sound that is as influenced by icons like The Cranberries as it is contemporary peers such as Wolf Alice and Phoebe Bridgers.
This week, BBC shared that the group was on the Sound of 2026 longlist. This is BBC Radio 1’s annual list of artists tipped for success next year.

The full longlist includes Alessi Rose, Chloe Qisha, Florence Road, Geese, Jim Legxacy, kwn, Royel Otis, Sasha Keable, Skye Newman
and sombr.
Last year, Chappell Roan was crowned the Sound of 2025 winner – and what a year she’s had! KNEECAP was also shortlisted last year.
Florence Road will play the 3Olympia Theatre, Dublin on 27th May 2026.
