Ireland looks like they will be taking award season by storm once more.

Three Irish actors have nabbed Golden Globe nominations for the 2024 ceremony.

And it will come as a surprise to nobody.

Cillian Murphy, Andrew Scott and Barry Keoghan have all be nominated in the Best Actor category.

Cillian is, of course, nominated for his role as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer. The highly successful film nabbed eight nominations.

While Barry is up for his role in the haunting Saltburn which is currently in cinemas.

Andrew Scott has nabbed his nom for his turn in All of Us Strangers which hits cinemas in January.

Unfortunately, Paul Mescal, who was a favourite to nab a nomination missed out in the Supporting Actor category for his role in All of Us Strangers.

It’s not just acting talent that was recognised this year. Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things, produced by Dublin’s Element Pictures, received seven nominations.

Barbie, the most successful ever film at the Irish box office, which features Ireland’s own Nicola Coughlan has also received nine.

The Golden Globe ceremony will take place on January 7th. Fingers crossed for the Irish nominations!
