Irish actor Barry Keoghan hints that he’d like to be the next James Bond in new post

We’d love to see an Irish Bond take to the big screen in the next installment…

Barry Keoghan is rumoured to be in the running for the coveted role and he’s showing followers he’s already in the headspace for it in some new snaps.

Posting a shirtless picture on Twitter Barry wrote, “BOND who!?” followed by a series of emojis.

The actor has recently appeared in Marvel’s Eternals alongside huge names such as Angelina Jolie, so a big role like Bond isn’t too out of reach.

But Barry isn’t the only Irishman looking for the role, Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan, best known for playing Christian Grey in the 50 Shades Of Grey and star of Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast is reportedly in the running to take over from Daniel Craig as the new James Bond.

This wouldn’t be the first time fans get to see an Irish Bond as Pierce Brosnan famously took on the role four times between 1995 and 2002.

A source told OK! Magazine that Dornan, along with Bridgerton star Régé-Jean Page and Superman actor Henry Cavill are the top three contenders in line for the role.

The source continued, “Producers are proceeding carefully because so much depends on who they choose…”

They also hinted that Dornan’s previous experience in a large franchise may be important to the producers when choosing the role.

“He’s already shown he has what it takes to see a franchise through to success with Fifty Shades of Grey…” they said.

We would love to see one of these Irish actors take on such an iconic role once again!

We will be keeping an eye out for the new cast announcement to keep you updated with any more news.
