Mrs. Brown’s Boys star Fiona O’Carroll has opened up about her emotional divorce from husband Martin Delaney.
She opened up during this week’s installment of RTE’s Ultimate Hell Week. Sharing how she’s feeling emotionally, she said:
“I need this. Think I’m a bit lost and I’m rediscovering who I am”
“I’m emotional. I actually wasn’t expecting it to be this emotional”
Continuing on, Fiona said that she’s been working on herself since her separation from her co-star.
“I used to see crying as a weakness but now I don’t anymore, it’s just a release”
“I’ve learnt that in the last three years, I’m trying to go with it, since my separation.”
“I would consider myself a strong woman now. But there was a time I didn’t.”
Fiona and Martin announced their separation last December. The two were childhood sweethearts and have four children together, Felix, Eli, Isaac, and Dexter.
Speaking about the split at the time, Fiona said:
“Myself and Martin met very young. I was 16, and I suppose he’s all I’ve ever known and we just kind of grew apart”
“We wanted different things. I still have a lot of love for him and I only want the best for him and I think he feels the same way about me.”
